group.one, a leading digital solutions provider, is excited to announce that it has signed an agreement to acquire Webglobe, a prominent player in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region, specializing in web hosting and cloud services. group.one will acquire 100% of the shares from the founder Igor Strečko and private equity fund Sandberg Capital, currently a majority owner. This acquisition marks a significant step in group.one's strategic expansion across Europe, expanding in the rapidly growing region.

Founded in 1999 by Igor Strečko and Juraj Hanták, Webglobe has established a robust position with nearly 100,000 clients across the CEE region, providing digital solutions for online business needs. “I am glad to leave Webglobe in the very capable hands of current CEO Giacomo Tognoni, group.one, and the whole Webglobe team. As part of the acquisition, Webglobe CEO, Giacomo Tognoni, will join group.one in a key leadership role responsible for the CEE activities. He will play a pivotal part in driving growth and delivering exceptional value to our customers, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and excellence.

The acquisition is expected to close within the fiscal year ending 30th September, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
