group.one appoints Mark McCardle as Chief Financial Officer

Malmö (Sweden) — group.one today announced the appointment of Mark McCardle as Group Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 June 2026. Mark will be based in the Copenhagen office and join the Group Leadership Team.

At the same time, group.one announces that Sara Fors will step down as CFO, effective 1 July 2026. Sara will remain with the company through the end of June to ensure a thorough and structured handover.

Mark joins from The Access Group, one of the UK's largest software companies, where he served as SVP Group Finance during a period of significant scale and integration across multiple software verticals. In that role he helped build and manage finance capabilities for a fast-growing, subscription-driven software platform with £1.4bn of revenue and a best-in-class EBITDA profile. His experience in scaling finance across a fast-growing, subscription-driven software platform is directly relevant to group.one’s next phase of development.

Prior to The Access Group, Mark held CFO roles at Microsoft UK and Adobe International, and earlier in his career gained significant international finance experience at Rackspace, a company well known across the hosting and digital infrastructure industry.

"I want to thank Sara sincerely for everything she has contributed to group.one," said Daniel Hagemeier, Group CEO of group.one. "Sara played an important role in the merger that created group.one and in building the group’s finance foundation. I am also very pleased to welcome Mark. He has operated at the centre of one of Europe's most ambitious software buy-and-build strategies, and that experience is exactly what we need as we continue to scale group.one across brands and markets."

Mark McCardle commented: "I am excited to be joining group.one at this stage of its development. The company's track record of bringing leading brands together and serving small and medium-sized businesses across Europe, and its continued evolution into an AI-native platform creates a compelling opportunity. I look forward to working with Daniel and the team to support the group’s next phase of growth. "

Mark's appointment strengthens group.one's leadership as the company continues to scale its AI native Hosting and AI platform across more than 2 million small and medium-sized businesses in Europe.
