group.one today announced the expansion of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) support to GTMetrix and BackWPup, extending the capabilities of the Aida AI platform across the SaaS portfolio and enabling customers to automate everyday business tasks through simple, conversational AI.

For small businesses, this means less manual work and simpler day-to-day operations via Aida AI in supported SaaS products, which now cover GT Metrix, BackWPup MiniCRM and SocialPilot. MCP is also supported within the AI Website Builders and customer Control Panels, to be released initially on one.com. Users can describe what they want to achieve rather than navigate dashboards or configure workflows manually and AI agents do the work.

GTmetrix MCP now lets agencies and website managers access website performance data and testing directly inside their preferred AI tooling, whether that is Claude, ChatGPT, or another platform, without switching tools or logging into a separate dashboard. For teams already working in AI-assisted workflows, this means GTmetrix becomes a native part of how they work rather than an additional step.

For agencies managing multiple client sites, the practical impact is significant. Tests can be run on-demand or on a schedule across multiple locations and devices, results can be interpreted in plain language, and recommendations, from image compression to lazy-loading scripts to unused JavaScript, can be acted on immediately within the same environment. Historical comparisons make it straightforward to demonstrate performance improvements to clients over time, or to detect regressions before they become visible problems. For web managers working closer to the codebase, GTmetrix MCP can integrate into CI/CD pipelines to run tests after deployments, enforce performance thresholds, and close the loop between testing, fixing, and retesting automatically.

BackWPup just made WordPress backups a lot less painful, with MCP support released today that lets users manage their backups by simply chatting with an AI assistant.

A user simply types "Run a backup before I update my plugins." The assistant understands the request, starts the backup, shows progress, and confirms when the site is safe. No settings or extra steps. Just the outcome they wanted in a seamless experience enabled in the user’s preferred AI assistants. The assistant understands the request, while BackWPup does the real work.

MiniCRM MCP-enabled AI capabilities make customer management available through natural conversation. Instead of clicking through menus, users can ask in plain language: “which quotes are stuck and need following up”, “what was agreed with a client last week”, “what needs my attention today”. Aida AI then retrieves and analyses relevant customer information to generate summaries, recommend next actions, draft communications, or serve ready-to-review automations.

Aida AI can access and understand all customer data including emails, notes, status updates and attachments, and help users manage their daily work from start to finish. With a single instruction, it can also create filters, templates, and automations, which are activated with user approval. Over time, capabilities will expand to update contacts and deal stages directly, send emails, and provide built-in reporting and analytics.

SocialPilot customers already benefit from MCP-enabled workflows covering social post publishing, draft management, account management, and issue handling. Upcoming releases will add campaign analytics, insights on post performance, scheduling recommendations, and brand intelligence.

Faster integration, broader SaaS reach

MCP is an emerging industry standard that allows AI agents to securely connect with software platforms and workflows. For group.one, it has cut integration timelines from months to weeks, accelerating time to value for customers and enabling new SaaS functionality to be introduced rapidly into products like the Aida AI Website Builder. For agencies and advanced users, MCP also enables direct connection of group.one products into external AI and automation platforms including Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, and n8n.

"MCP is an important step in making AI genuinely useful for agencies and pro users," said Daniel Hagemeier, CEO of group.one. "Our focus is practical automation that saves time, reduces manual work, and helps customers run their businesses more efficiently. By integrating MCP across our portfolio, we are building a stronger foundation for the next generation of AI-enabled digital services."
