group.one launches Ask Aida, bringing conversational AI to managing the infrastructure supporting the generative AI era.
European digital infrastructure and application provider group.one today announced the launch of Ask Aida, a conversational AI agent that allows customers to automate the digital infrastructure and tools customers depend on to run their online businesses.

Embedded within the control panel, Ask Aida can perform hundreds of actions across group.one systems. For example, setting up accounts and mailboxes to changing configurations, managing servers and troubleshooting technical issues.

Unlike traditional chatbots that primarily answer questions or direct users to help articles, Ask Aida can take action directly on a customer’s accounts, all within a secure and compliant environment. Customers remain in control at all times: Ask Aida asks for explicit approval before making any change.

Infrastructure management becomes conversational

Generative AI is changing both how digital products are built and how people expect to interact with software. At the same time, hosting, domains, email and cloud infrastructure remain the foundation on which websites, applications and increasingly AI-enabled businesses operate.

Ask Aida brings these developments together by allowing customers to manage this infrastructure through natural conversation rather than navigating multiple menus, interfaces and technical tools.

A customer can simply ask:

  • “Add a mailbox for my new employee.”
  • “Why is my website slow?”
  • “Help me change my DNS configuration.”
  • “Rotate my database credentials.”
  • Ask Aida understands the customer’s specific products and configuration, identifies the required steps and can complete the task within the conversation.

“Most chat assistants can tell you where to click. Ask Aida can actually get the task done,” said Daniel Hagemeier, CEO of group.one. “We believe conversational AI will fundamentally change how customers interact with digital infrastructure. Ask Aida understands the customer’s own environment, can investigate issues and perform real configuration work. At the same time, we keep the customer always in control.”

Ask Aida can perform operations across hosting, domains, email, billing and account management. For more technical use cases, the agent can also interact with files, databases and configurations and bring relevant tools directly into the browser conversation. This enables customers to address technical demand without switching between multiple interfaces and administration tools.

Where appropriate, Ask Aida can also recommend relevant products and upgrades based on the customer’s immediate need.

Built on group.one’s AI-native hosting platform for Agent-driven settings

Ask Aida is built on group.one’s AI-native hosting platform, designed to make core hosting capabilities accessible to AI agents. Through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), hosting capabilities can be made available not only to Ask Aida, but also to external AI agents and customers’ preferred AI tools. This allows hosting services, configurations and workflows to become part of an increasingly agentic internet.

Ask Aida provides the conversational experience on top of this infrastructure, while the underlying platform enables a broader range of AI-driven interactions and automation.

Part of group.one’s broader AI strategy

Ask Aida is part of group.one’s broader strategy to embed AI across how customers build, manage and automate their digital businesses. Earlier this year, group.one launched the Aida AI Website Builder, enabling customers to create and modernise websites through conversation.

Across the wider portfolio, AI capabilities are also being introduced to assist customers in everyday tasks and automate workflows. This includes capabilities across email, CRM, social media and other SaaS products.

Together, these developments reflect three areas of focus for group.one:

   1. AI Builder: enabling customers to create and grow their digital presence using AI.

   2. AI Assistance: Embedding AI into products to make everyday tasks easier and more intuitive.

   3. AI Automation: Enabling AI agents to take action and execute workflows on behalf of customers, while keeping customers in control.

Following the initial launch with group.one’s Norwegian brand Uniweb, Ask Aida will be rolled out to one.com, the group’s flagship brand, in the coming months, followed by additional brands across the group.
